Tigres Backed to Bounce Back with Away Win at Queretaro

Queretaro have no new injury concerns.

Tigres welcome back Rodrigo Aguirre from suspension, but Jesus Angulo, Marco Fapfén, Marcelo Flores and Osvaldo Rodriguez remain sidelined through injury.

Queretaro stunned Pachuca 2-1 away in their last outing to claim their first league win of the season. They fell behind early, but quickly regrouped and created the more dangerous chances afterward. Ali Avila scored both goals, including a stoppage-time winner, to seal the comeback.

Tigres, meanwhile, were held 2-2 at home by Atletico San Luis, leaving them winless after two matches with just one point. Federico Pereira and Diego Sanchez twice put Tigres ahead, but they could not protect their lead and were eventually pegged back late on by David Rodriguez. Tigres managed only two shots on target all game and lacked creativity.

Queretaro may look weaker on paper, but their impressive display against Pachuca should give them a major confidence lift. Tigres, despite boasting one of the strongest squads in Liga MX, have made a worrying start to the campaign. Still, Aguirre's return gives them another option in attack, and if they perform to their level, they should have enough quality to get the job done. The pick is an away win.
