HJK Helsinki and Motherwell Set for Tight First-Leg Battle

HJK Helsinki will host Motherwell late on Thursday night in the first leg of their UEFA Europa Conference League third qualifying round tie. Both sides have been in solid form overall, and with neither holding a clear edge, a tightly contested draw looks a realistic outcome.

HJK swept aside Marijampole with an 8-0 aggregate win in the previous round, underlining their competitiveness. They have also won four of their last five matches in all competitions, scoring at least twice in three of those games, which reflects a strong attacking threat.

That said, HJK were thrashed 3-0 by SJK in their most recent outing, a defeat that could have some impact on morale. With Motherwell arriving on a winning run and in good condition, the Finnish side will need to stay fully focused.
