Improving Deportes Concepcion backed to beat out-of-form O'Higgins
Deportes Concepcion have improved, winning three of their last five league games, while O'Higgins are without a win in four. The home side are tipped to take advantage of their opponents' poor run.
Team news: Deportes Concepcion have midfielder Jonatan Rocha sidelined with an ankle injury. The club have also brought in winger Monta Cienruiz and defender Cristian Riquelme.
O'Higgins have signed Argentine midfielder Tomas Arvelis, but defender Bastian Vergara is suspended. Leandro Diaz is also unavailable for unspecified reasons.
Deportes Concepcion have shown clear improvement lately, winning three of their last five league matches, including a 3-2 home victory over Limache in their previous outing. Even so, they are still only just above the safety line, and their 14 goals in the first half of the season leave them joint-second lowest scorers in the Chilean top flight, so further progress is still needed.
O'Higgins used the Club World Cup break to complete their postponed away match against Universidad de Chile, but ended up losing 2-0. That extended their league winless run to four matches, with one draw and three defeats. They currently sit 10th in the table and have managed only two wins from seven away league games.
With their form trending upward, Deportes Concepcion look capable of beating an O'Higgins side stuck in a winless slump.
Head-to-head: In the first league meeting this season, Deportes Concepcion lost 2-1 away from home. That is the only official meeting between the two sides in recent seasons.
