Strong at Home, Kalmar Backed to See Off Mjallby

Kalmar striker Strodie, who has yet to make an official appearance this season, remains a doubt for this match.

Mjallby welcome back Tom Pettersson, Gia Jansson and Abdoulieba after the trio served suspensions last week. However, Ayli Olst is close to completing a move to Premier League side Hull City and is unlikely to feature here.

Kalmar have no suspensions. Strodie is doubtful, while Aboubakar Keita and Emil are unavailable.

Mjallby also have no suspensions. Stavitski and Ayli Olst are doubtful, with the latter seemingly set for a transfer, while they have no confirmed absentees through injury.

Kalmar drew 2-2 away to Malmo last week and have now collected 14 points at home. Only league leaders Sirius and second-placed Hammarby have taken more home points than them in the Swedish top flight this season. Kalmar have been strong on their own ground, though their biggest problem has been losing all six away league matches.

Mjallby come into this game after their midweek Champions League qualifier against Lincoln Red Imps, which they won 3-0 at home. In the league, they drew 0-0 with Vasteras last week, extending their winless run to six matches with four draws and two defeats. On the other hand, they have drawn each of their last three away league games.

Kalmar's home form is their main strength, and with this match falling between the two legs of Mjallby's Champions League qualifier, the visitors may have to keep one eye on Europe. That makes a home win look the stronger option.

In head-to-head meetings, Mjallby beat Kalmar 2-0 in the cup in February. The two sides were not in the same division last season, and Mjallby also completed a double over Kalmar in both meetings the year before.
