Argentina missed out on defending their title after losing to Spain in the 2026 World Cup final, with FIFA releasing the players' physical data after the match.

The 39-year-old Lionel Messi played the full 120 minutes including extra time, covering 10,145.6 metres in total and reaching a top speed of 30.8 km/h.

For Argentina, Alexis Mac Allister led the entire match with 14,987.7 metres covered, and five Argentine players cleared the 10,000-metre mark. For Spain, Marc Cucurella topped the team with 13,298.3 metres, while Lamine Yamal ranked third in the squad with 12,764.1 metres.
