Uruguayan league action takes place on Tuesday morning, with Liverpool Montevideo away to Defensor Sporting. With both sides in similarly shaky form and lacking cutting edge lately, a draw looks like a reasonable outcome.

Defensor Sporting have endured a poor start to the current stage, going five rounds without a win with three draws and two defeats. They have scored only three goals and conceded six for a total of three points. Since the start of May, they have failed to win in any competition, with a blunt attack and an unsteady defence proving costly.

That said, Defensor Sporting have drawn three straight league matches and at least shown an ability to keep collecting points. With Liverpool Montevideo also struggling for consistency, the home side will feel they have a real chance of taking something from this game.

Liverpool Montevideo, for their part, have managed just one win, two draws and two defeats from their last five league matches, which reflects an underwhelming overall performance. Over their last three league games, they have posted one win, one draw and one loss, with Bentancourt and Acosta both getting on the scoresheet. Their away win in that spell should also give them some confidence for this trip.

However, Liverpool Montevideo have scored no more than once in each of their last six matches, and in half of those games they failed to score at all, underlining their lack of attacking punch. They also lost the last meeting with Defensor Sporting, so avoiding defeat will likely be their main objective this time.
