In-Form AIK Backed to Edge GaIS

AIK head into this match on the back of strong recent form, while GaIS may be distracted by upcoming European qualifying. With the visitors' away record also modest, the home side gets the nod.

AIK have just signed free-agent centre-back Mattis.

GaIS will be without defender Oscar Ågren, who is suspended.

For AIK, Ibrahim Ceesay is doubtful with a foot injury. Elingsen, Andreas Redkin, Charlie Pavey, Henrik Kag, and Sixten Gustavsson are all unavailable.

For GaIS, Robin Thomasson is doubtful with a thigh problem, while Hermansson is also a doubt. Gustav Lundgren is out with an Achilles injury and Kevin Holmen is sidelined with a knee injury.

The recommended pick is a home win.

AIK beat Mjallby away from home last week, making it back-to-back wins and a third victory in their last four league matches. After 12 rounds they sit ninth, but they are still close to the teams above them. Their opponents GaIS are only one point ahead and four places higher. AIK's recent home league form is a concern, though, with three straight defeats.

GaIS, meanwhile, are currently putting much of their focus on the upcoming Europa Conference League qualifiers. They edged Elfsborg 1-0 last week and have lost only once in their last 10 league matches. However, they have managed just one league away win.

AIK are in good form, while GaIS may have one eye on Europe, and that slightly shifts this otherwise even-looking contest toward the home side.

In the head-to-head record, GaIS beat AIK 3-2 in the Swedish Cup in March. In last season's league meetings, AIK had the edge with an away win and a home draw, while GaIS completed a league double over them in 2024.
